Overview
Iconic is a brand identity designed for a music artist looking to build a recognisable visual presence around their name. I developed the identity from the logo through to the wider visual direction, creating a colour palette, logo variations and supporting applications that could work across digital content, music releases and future merchandise.

The Challenge
The identity needed to feel distinctive enough to represent an artist, while giving the brand room to grow. It had to work across different formats without losing the character of the main logo, from digital platforms and promotional content to potential clothing and merchandise.

The Approach
I started with the main Iconic wordmark and developed a wider logo system around it, including supporting logo variations and a submark. The visual direction was built around a defined colour palette and a strong, recognisable aesthetic. I also explored how the identity could translate into music-focused applications and motion, including an animated logo intro where the submark glitches and transitions into the main logo. The identity was designed to feel like something that could exist around the artist, rather than simply sitting next to their name.

The Outcome
The result was a complete visual identity for Iconic, with a flexible logo system, colour direction and applications that give the artist a consistent foundation for their visual presence. The identity can extend across music releases, social content, promotional material and merchandise, giving the brand room to develop as the artist grows.

The Reflection
This project pushed me to think about an artist identity as a visual system rather than a standalone logo. Developing the supporting colours, variations and motion helped me consider how the identity could behave across different formats while still feeling recognisably Iconic.
